First Day of Preschool

Today Hannah and Megan started preschool. They were so excited to pick out their clothes and get ready the night before. I woke up to a icy, snow filled driveway & a temperature of 5 with a windchill of -10 or something crazy. After falling down on my butt in the driveway as I walked down to my car at the bottom with all my stuff, not being able to open the doors ( they were iced shut) I finally managed with lots of help from Grandpa Shane to get the girls in the car and ready to go, with no more drama and only 15 minutes after I was planning to leave. They were excited to see me leave once we arrived at the preschool. Hannah said, "Mommy you have a good day at work and we will see you after." Umm isn't that my line? I was a wee bit sad, but they were so happy and excited to go it was hard to be too sad. Then I had to concentrate on getting to work in one piece so that worry overtook all others. They gave me the hugest hug when I picked them up, they were so cute and ready to leave when I got there. Megan said that her favorite thing about school was snack time and lunch time. ??? Hannah said her favorite thing was the little song that they sang before they eat. Ha they are a riot!

New Years Snow

We woke up this morning to almost four inches of snow. Its only susposed to snow three or four times a year, and this makes two times with inches sticking and two times where it didn't, so I am not sure that we won't break some records this year. I couldn't believe it and had to get the camera out and take a ton of pictures....it is so pretty and the kids had so much fun. Happy New Year in a whole new place. Jason is going to drive me to work tomorrow and he had to go and help a friend get out a ditch this am. Church was even canceled. He was also bummed because he really wanted to get the Christmas lights put away, but no climbing on the roof with all that snow on it!

Grandma Jill visits

My mom came to visit us the day after Christmas. There was a big snow storm in Tulsa OK where she was flying into and I was afraid that she would never make it, of course her flight was rerouted and delayed.... Then I had to drive the two hours to Tulsa and the last hour took almost 2 hours because there was so much snow on the ground. She made it here and we have been having a really fun week. I showed her around town and all our lakes & pretty places. Of course we went to two different Wal Marts and she agrees that they are different from CA Wal-Marts. We went to build a bear with Hannah & Megan and I took her to see our library in Bentonville. She thinks its pretty here and is frankly surprised that its Arkansas. She sees now why we love it and is hoping for a return trip during the summer to see all the rest of the things that we love. I will be sad to take her back to the airport tomorrow, but she is needed in CA, my grandpa is missing her so. Maybe we could share her? lol We had fun with the Christmas loot, using the easy bake oven turned out to not be so easy! But it was fun and laughable as Grandma got mad at the oven for not working right! or was it the person reading the directions? I was just taking some pictures. I am sure that I will be mad when its my turn to read the directions. :)

New Year

My new year resolution is to keep up with my blog and try to catch up on scrapbooking. I am not sure if either thing is actually possible, but I am going to give it all my effort. Today my mom is here visiting and we had a fancy hot coco party. We are having a good visit and will be sad to see her leave tomorrow. The kids have had so much fun being spoiled by grandma, but now its back to reality. I am back to work in two short days and I am still not sure how I feel about that. I hurt my back somehow this past week, so I am hoping that it feels better by monday or I will have to call in sick on my first day lol or something.
